Ramblings About the Name HIji

This is who HIji is.

Let's start with the name. HIji is pronounced "high" and "jeye". Just say "eye"... now add a "j" to the beginning. Good. Now say "jeye". You're doing great. All at once now... "high-jeye". That's right. It's HIji. Where did it come from? A friend gave it to me as a nickname a long time ago.

Next, let's look at the spelling and capitalization. There are four letters. H-I-j-i. Did you see that? Yes, I mean the first two letters. They are intentionally capitalized. It's to help people figure out how to pronounce it, which you are now an expert in pronouncing. Capital HI... lowercase ji. Job well done. Spell it HIji.

Finally, let's get on with the rest. Exactly who is HIji? That's me. I like making music that I hope you will like, but if you don't, that's okay. Just be constructive about it. When I make it, I feel something. Maybe you will feel something good too. I think it's different, but not so outrageously weird different... although sometimes it may be imaginatively out there. It's not Britney Spears. It's not Taylor Swift. Some people say it sounds like Depeche Mode. Once, I was told that it rang of Tommy Bolin. He was a great guitarist - I am not him, but I do play the guitar. I've been making music for a long time now. Most of it is centered on electronic sounds. I've gone under different names... shedding skins along the way. Today I am HIji.
